This book is a deeply personal and purpose-driven project, curated at the culmination of my post-graduation from the Family Managed Business (FMB) program at SPJIMR. It is a reflection of the shared wisdom, aspirations, and experiences of an extraordinary ecosystem one that’s shaping the future of Indian family businesses.
I am honored that the foreword has been written by Mr. Navneet Munot, MD & CEO of HDFC Mutual Fund, whose leadership and clarity continue to inspire across the world of wealth and investments.
The book brings together a diverse collection of voices including industry stalwarts like Ashish P. Somaiyaa, CEO of WhiteOak Capital Mutual Fund, and Ganesh Mohan from Bajaj Mutual Fund, along with experienced faculty members from SPJIMR. These contributors share practical insights and sectoral expertise across manufacturing, retail, and services, offering invaluable guidance to next-gen entrepreneurs.
In addition, several alumni share candid reflections on their entrepreneurial journeys the missteps they made and the lessons they wish someone had told them earlier. Their stories serve as signposts for our generation, helping us avoid repeating avoidable mistakes.
A unique and heartfelt section is dedicated to my fellow batchmates, who’ve contributed their 5-year business plans and shared where they see their ventures going along with their most cherished memories from the program.
As the curator, I’ve also shared my personal learning journey from participating in the Babson Build program at Babson College, Boston United States of America, which expanded my entrepreneurial thinking, to international industrial learning trips across Vietnam, Korea (manufacturing sector) and Europe (service sector and family business expansion).
This book is more than a compilation. It’s a living archive of ambition, learning, and legacy designed to serve as a compass for the new generation of business leaders who are navigating the intersection of tradition and transformation.
